Salary: $41,600 - 47,840 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for candidates currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• We need strong Python programming ability and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.
• We expect hands-on experience creating or shaping a user interface, such as a web app, dashboard, or prototype.
• We value candidates who can work independently while also knowing when to ask thoughtful, informed questions.
• Coursework or personal projects in machine learning or data science are a strong advantage; a GitHub portfolio is a plus.
• Familiarity with IoT, embedded systems, or industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, or DNP3 is beneficial.
• Interest in energy systems, sustainability, or climate technology is highly desirable.
• Previous internship, co-op, or freelance software experience is an added advantage.
• We prefer candidates with technical familiarity with Python, REST APIs, Modbus/DNP3, SQL, React or a similar JavaScript framework, Figma, scikit-learn or TensorFlow, Git, and Linux.

• We will have you develop and refine machine learning models for solar forecasting, battery dispatch optimization, and anomaly detection using live sensor data.
• You will build backend scripts and APIs in Python that connect inverters, battery assets, and SCADA platforms into a single data flow.
• You will design and implement web dashboards that let engineers and clients track system performance in real time.
• You will support the development of automation sequences for solar-plus-storage systems, including safety interlocks and operating procedures.
• You will help integrate inverter systems, data loggers, and monitoring APIs into our Energy Management System.
• You will collaborate with licensed engineers on load calculations, single-line diagrams, and NEC-compliant system layouts.
• You will contribute code that is deployed to live energy systems and directly supports real-world operations.

This is an in-person opportunity based in Irvine, California, and it is intended for someone who wants meaningful engineering work rather than routine intern tasks. The role offers hands-on exposure to live energy systems, a blend of software, automation, and electrical collaboration, and pay in the range of $20 to $23 per hour for a full-time internship.
