Salary: $62,000 - 102,000 per year Requirements:

• We need 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on backend systems.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• We need strong, hands-on experience building backend services in Golang.
• We require solid experience designing and delivering solutions in AWS cloud environments.
• We need experience building and running distributed systems, APIs, and microservices architectures.
• We require familiarity with domain-driven design and modern architectural approaches.
• We need experience working with multiple data storage technologies, including relational and NoSQL databases.
• We require experience with distributed Postgres-compatible databases such as CockroachDB.
• We need experience integrating workflow orchestration platforms such as Camunda or Temporal.
• We require experience implementing observability, monitoring, and performance tuning tools such as Datadog.
• We need experience collaborating across cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
• We require strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience integrating AI/ML models into backend systems is a plus.
• We require employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States, as we will not sponsor visas for this position.

• We design, build, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs using Golang in AWS environments.
• We create microservices using domain-driven design and modern patterns such as hexagonal architecture.
• We partner with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define service contracts and platform capabilities.
• We mentor engineers and promote effective collaboration across distributed engineering teams.
• We assess and integrate SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions to satisfy functional and non-functional needs.
• We contribute to architecture reviews, RFCs, and proof-of-concept efforts.
• We develop highly scalable, resilient, and observable distributed systems.
• We design and implement event-driven architectures and streaming solutions using Kafka and related messaging tools.
• We integrate workflow orchestration and durable execution frameworks such as Camunda and Temporal.
• We design and manage data systems across relational, graph, document, search, and OLAP databases.
• We build and operate cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, SQS, API Gateway, RDS, and S3.
• We implement observability through logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing with tools such as Datadog.
• We establish backend engineering standards, best practices, and system design conventions.
• We plan, estimate, and deliver engineering work while proactively managing risks and removing blockers.
• We communicate progress and system capabilities to stakeholders and leadership.
