This is a remote position.
Nursing Vault Plus Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Remote RN on Call for our hospice client. This unique position allows you to manage patient needs from the comfort of your home, providing critical phone triage and clinical guidance. While the core of this role is remote, you will serve as the first line of defense for patients and families, with the opportunity to transition to in-person care for urgent assessments.
Base Hourly Rate: Competitive remote/triage hourly rate.
Field Premium: Significant hourly rate increase ("Differential Pay") for any time spent performing in-person patient visits or on-site assessments.
Remote Triage: Act as the primary point of contact for patients and caregivers after hours. Assess needs over the phone and provide immediate clinical guidance for pain and symptom management.
Clinical Implementation: Execute physician plans of care and establish nursing interventions based on the nursing process.
Field Response: Travel to patient locations (residences or facilities) when a phone intervention is insufficient to manage symptoms or when a physical assessment is required.
Education & Supervision: Remotely train and support families in providing care, medication administration, and comfort measures.
Interdisciplinary Coordination: Refer families to hospice chaplains, social workers, or community resources as needs arise.
Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Experience: Previous hospice, palliative, or ER/Triage experience is strongly preferred.
Tech Savvy: Comfort using EMR systems and remote communication tools from a home office environment.
Critical Thinking: Ability to assess complex clinical situations over the phone and determine when a field visit is necessary.
Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional in-person visits.
