Job Title: Medical Receptionist

Location: Houston, TX (West Houston)

Industry: Healthcare

Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 / Per hour (based on experience)

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a busy specialty medical clinic seeking a Medical Receptionist to support front desk operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinic environment and interacting with patients throughout the day.

 

Job Description:

The Medical Receptionist will manage daily front desk operations including patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance intake, and payment collection. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high patient volume while maintaining excellent customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check patients in and out for appointments.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage clinic calendars.
  • Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments.
  • Update patient demographics and insurance information in the system.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient inquiries.
  • Review testing instructions and appointment details with patients.
  • Assist patients with payment plans when applicable.
  • Balance daily cash drawers and reconcile payments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
  • Support clinic operations in a high-volume environment (approximately 40 patients per day) .

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of medical front desk or medical receptionist experience required.
  • Experience scheduling appointments and managing patient intake.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and patient payment collection.
  • Experience using EMR systems (eClinicalWorks preferred) .
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Stable work history preferred.

 

Additional Details:

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Work Model: Fully onsite
  • Environment: Busy outpatient clinic
  • Start Date: ASAP
