Lecturer of Art History
Part Time JR100010 ANNOUNCMENT OF POSITION
VACANCY ABOUT THIS POSITION Summary: Colorado Mesa University is seeking applications for a
part-time in-person Adjunct Professor of Art History. The ideal candidates would have experience teaching Art History survey courses.
Adjunct faculty at CMU are part-time employees who are hired on an as-needed basis. This job ad is to collect applications for
qualified lecturers but communication to applicants may be delayed as faculty needs fluctuate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
This position will consist of teaching two 3-credit
hour courses per semester, starting fall 2026 (mid-August). Courses taught will be two of our 100-level foundations survey of art history
courses; two ARTE 118 Prehistoric to Renaissance courses the first semester with options to teach ARTE 119 Renaissance to Present, ARTE 115
Art Appreciation, or upper division art history courses in the future depending on experience.
Salary: $600.00 - 850.00
per credit hour, commensurate with education. Adjunct faculty are paid on a per credit hour basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Required: - MA or MFA in Art History or other art related field.
- OR a BA in Art History or related field with a combined
minimum of at least 10 years of experience working in an art history related field.
Preferred Qualifications: - PhD
preferred but not required.
