Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

S&S Flooring Studio is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Flooring Installer to deliver precision installation across occupied residential properties, remodels, and new builds throughout the Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads market.

This role sits at the core of our ability to deliver the premium, white-glove client experience we promise. As an installer, you are the final expression of our brand. Your craftsmanship is what clients see, walk on, and live with every day. Strong LVP and laminate installation skills are essential to this role, with ceramic tile and carpet proficiency a meaningful advantage.

This is not a production-line install position. We take a quality-first, service-focused approach to every project, and we need installers who take genuine pride in their craft, communicate professionally with clients on-site, and consistently execute at a high level.

ABOUT S&S Flooring Studio

At S&S Flooring Studio, we are elevating the flooring experience through a commitment to deliver superior flooring solutions through expert installation and unmatched service. Our vision is to combine high-quality materials with skilled craftsmanship, clear communication, and dependable execution on every project.

We are not a retail flooring store.

We operate as a consultative, high-end service provider focused on delivering exceptional results for both residential and commercial clients. Every project is an opportunity to build long-term relationships and exceed expectations through precision, integrity, and attention to detail.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Projects completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standard of quality — with zero rework or callbacks.
  • Clean, professional job sites that reflect our brand at every stage of installation.
  • Consistent client satisfaction, with installers recognized as the face of quality in every home or commercial space.
  • Accurate subfloor assessment and prep that minimizes surprises during installation and protects long-term product performance.
  • Professional, respectful interactions with clients — answering questions confidently, managing expectations, and representing the company with integrity.
  • Seamless coordination with the sales and operations teams, ensuring project details are communicated and executed precisely.
  • A reputation built on craftsmanship — clients who refer others because of the quality of the install, not just the product.

OBJECTIVES

  • Execute flooring installations for: LVP, hardwood, tile, and carpet — to exacting quality standards on every project, every time.
  • Conduct thorough subfloor preparation, including leveling, moisture assessment, and removal of existing flooring as needed.
  • Take precise measurements and cut materials accurately to minimize waste and ensure clean, professional finishes.
  • Install transitions, moldings, trim, and all finishing elements with attention to detail and a polished, complete look.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site from setup through project completion.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients and homeowners during all on-site visits.
  • Coordinate proactively with the project management and sales team to ensure scope, timeline, and materials are aligned before and during each install.
  • Document and report any subfloor issues, scope deviations, or material discrepancies promptly and clearly.
  • Uphold all safety standards, including proper lifting technique, tool handling, and PPE use.
  • Represent S&S Flooring Studio’s core values in every interaction:  Craftsmanship   ,  Accountability ,  Alignment ,  Transparency ,  Discipline ,  Teamwork
