About the job

Akkodis is seeking a Document Control Specialist for a contract role in Santa Clarita, CA (Onsite). This role will support engineering and quality teams by managing and maintaining controlled documents within a PLM system in a regulated medical device environment.

To be considered, candidates should have strong experience in document control, change management, and PLM systems , along with a solid understanding of medical device quality standards.

Pay Range: $40/hr. – $45/hr. on W2 (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Document Control Specialist responsibilities include

  • Manage and maintain engineering and quality documents within PLM systems
  • Support design and document change control activities (CO/CR/ECO)
  • Create, update, review, route, and archive documents per defined procedures
  • Track document status, approvals, revisions, and effective dates
  • Ensure compliance with medical device quality management systems
  • Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams
  • Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and records
  • Prepare reports and dashboards related to document control activities
  • Ensure timely closure of documentation tasks based on project timelines

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6–8 years of experience in document control or related roles
  • Experience with PLM systems (Windchill, Agile, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of change control processes (CO, CR, ECO)
  • Experience in medical device or regulated industry
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and quality systems
  • Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting audits and compliance activities
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation and product lifecycle processes
