Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CPA Tax Advisor to join a growing, client-focused accounting firm. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys building trusted client relationships, providing proactive tax guidance, and helping individuals and businesses make informed financial decisions throughout the year.

The right candidate will bring strong technical tax knowledge, public accounting experience, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of client relationships, provide strategic tax planning, and contribute to the continued growth and improvement of the firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support a portfolio of individual and business clients.
• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and businesses.
• Provide proactive tax planning and advisory support throughout the year.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and recommend practical strategies based on each client's needs.
• Research complex tax matters and provide clear, actionable guidance.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding tax questions, planning opportunities, deadlines, and required documents.
• Review work prepared by staff and provide technical guidance when needed.
• Help mentor and support junior team members.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve internal processes, workflow, client service, and overall efficiency.
• Maintain strong organization and follow-through to ensure timely completion of client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• 3+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Strong experience with individual, business, partnership, and S corporation tax returns.
• Proven experience with tax planning and client advisory services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with team members.
• Experience with UltraTax and QuickBooks is preferred.
• Prior experience reviewing staff work or mentoring team members is a plus.
