The Role: Meat Butcher Associate

The Meat Butcher Associate is responsible for cutting, trimming, scraping, and preparing meat and poultry products. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with perishable goods, food-related items, or provisional products.

What You’ll Do

• Cut, trim, scrape, and prepare various cuts of meat and poultry
• Use knives and tools of the trade safely and effectively
• Learn and operate band saws and other power equipment
• Read production labels and produce correct cuts for retail as directed
• Stand for long periods and perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, and lifting
• Work in cold environments (32–38°F)
• Wear required oil- and slip-resistant footwear
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support department needs
  

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 1 year of butcher experience
• Ability to use knives and butcher-specific tools
• Ability to recognize various cuts, sizes, and species of meat
• Ability to read production labels and follow cutting instructions
• Ability to clearly communicate in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Comfortable working 8–12 hour shifts (part-time or full-time depending on business needs)
• Ability to work overnight or early morning shifts
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Strong accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
• Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture

Salary

$19.50/hr
