Job Title: Automotive Painter - Manufacturing

Pay: $19-$23/hr (based on skills & experience)

Shift:

• 1st shift/ 5:30am-4:00pm Monday through Thursday
  • Voluntary overtime Fri/Sat

Job Description

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming components.
• Mix and match paints, coatings, and finishes according to specifications and color standards.
• Apply coatings using airless and conventional spray equipment.
• Inspect painted surfaces to ensure proper coverage, thickness, and finish quality.
• Perform touch-ups and rework as necessary to meet quality requirements.
• Maintain painting equipment and ensure proper operation and cleanliness.
• Follow safety standards for handling paints, solvents, and hazardous materials.
• Work from blueprints, job orders, and production schedules to complete tasks on time.
• May prepare any preparation operations as required such as masking and hanging parts onto holding devices.
• Receive bodies, cabs, doors or other components for primer, intermediate or final application of coating materials, check substrates and general condition.
• Activate paint according to supplier recommendation.
• Apply primers and multiple top coats in prescribed sequence.
• Set baker temperature and timer and bake according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Clean and maintain spray equipment after each use.
• Clean and maintain paint booth according to approved maintenance schedule. Visually check work and record production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous industrial or automotive painting experience required.
• Experience with spray painting (airless and conventional) techniques.
• Knowledge of paint mixing, surface prep, and coating applications.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
